Years ago there were project reports published in "Renew" magazine (then "Soft Technology") describing axial flow turbines runnign on two metres of head. Recently more work has been done and the spreadsheet Dennis Fulford wrote has been adapted:

Also many pelton wheel generators have been installed locally, mainly by Rainbow Power Company ltd and we are continuing their work with their proven designs.
